Down Against seeks to combine an intensive research programme at the National Railway Museum’s archive facility with the creation of a new theatrical play. The extended research is used to directly inform a dramatic re-telling of the series of catastrophic events which unfolded on the early morning of the 22nd May 1915 at Quintinshill.
This new play uses a variety of old and new technologies to re-create the series of events that unfolded. Narrative-led and supported by a highly scenographic visual staging, the production will ultimately ask questions that surround the notions of Post- Memory & Theatre Histography.
